Manchester Airport Installs scanner that "naked" Passenger

Manchester Airport, England, began testing a controversial scanner X-ray "naked" to passengers. Airport authorities say the scanner is safe for the passenger's health. The implementation of these devices will make security checks quicker, to instantly reveal if a person hiding weapons or explosives.

But the whole body scan will also show other personal details like breast implants, piercings and profiles
black and white of the genitals of passengers. Each of these devices, which cost U.S. $ 126,000, launches electromagnetic waves to people while standing in a booth and generates a 3D virtual image of the observed subject.

Sarah Barrett, director of airport passenger service, said the machine is "completely safe." For if there remain doubts, the Director stated that the passengers can now refuse to go through the scanner. The Department of Transport in the UK decide within a year if installed for use and permanently binding.
